CISP and Vicente Salek, MD: manager’s vision of cloud solutions
CISP, Saens Pena Image Center is located in Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, is a Medcloud’s partner since September 2018.
Since its creation, CISP has the purpose of offering its patient excellence in diagnostic imaging and, for this, invests in the best technological innovations in regards to equipment and tools.
With a focus on optimizing production and routine work, Vicente Salek, MD, director of operations at CISP, sought the PACS tool that best fit the clinic. He attributes cost reduction as the main advantage of the cloud format.
“The traditional local server format was much more expensive. It had implementation fee, had to pay per user, and cost the personnel responsible for the installation. So I met Medcloud, it has no local server, it’s in the cloud and it has no implementation fee”, he says.
In addition, it also talks about the ease of the staff to use the system. In the local server model, according to Vicente, the degree of difficulty was much higher. With the Medcloud solution the medical staff needed two days to learn the new tool.
Practicality for the patient
One of the flagships in the new CISP work format is the relationship with patients. Therefore, the patient portal is increasingly used by those who use the services of the clinic. Thus, the patient no longer has to go to the headquarters to remove their printed exams, just access the site with a login and password to access the images and reports.
According to Salek, even with little implementation time, more and more patients are using the tool. “We have patients of all age groups. Some still have resistance and want their exams in paper. I realize 40% is still coming fetch, but most, 60% is already accessing through the cloud”.
For the director of operations, the tendency is that more and more people choose to receive their exams through the cloud. According to him, the projection is that this number will grow even more as patients adapt to the new tool.
To make the patient’s daily life even easier, through the portal it is also possible to pre-order exams.
Partnership that brings optimization
Vicente Salek classifies the partnership with Medcloud as excellent. According to him, after implementation in the system, it made it easier for both the patient and his medical staff.
With the hiring of Medcloud services, CISP was able to flex the working model of the medical team itself. Salek emphasizes the practicality and speed in the reports.
“The patient comes to make an X-ray, for example. The doctor who is working at his house, is ready to go immediately and the result comes out in 15 minutes. The patient did not even get home and already has the results”.
