Marcos Zalcman, MD, Consulta Carioca director, talks about how Medcloud is helping the clinic to offer quality and affordable prices in healthcare to Rio de Janeiro city.

He says the clinic began operating in 2016 and serves about 5,000 people a month.

For this, it relies on the technology of the patient portal. Through this tool, the patient can have access to their images and reports, just access the site and have login and password.
According to him, the convenience of accessing your exams wherever you want is also linked to convenience. In this way, the patient eliminates the need for displacement to return to the clinic only to seek their results.
In addition to the patient, the requesting doctor is also benefited from this technology. A patient’s authorization is sufficient so that the clinic can send the complete examination to the doctor who requested it.
“If I can get the requesting doctor to be informed as soon as the patient has taken the exam, and he has access to quality viewing material, it is a win-win situation. The more we use the portal, the better”, Marcos plans.
Sustainability
A strong point highlighted by Marcos, sustainability also plays a key role in the partnership with Medcloud. Once the clinic provides the patient portal, it prints less.
“I want the patient to use the portal more and more through our website and to seek as little paper as possible. In this way it facilitates for the patient, the applicant and also for the clinic”, says the director.

In addition to providing secure, cloud-based storage for all imaging files Consulta Carioca performs, the Medcloud system is still storing every legacy of the clinic. That is, all your history of exams, new and old will be saved for 20 years, as determined by CFM.
